We are pleased to announce that the National Organic Program (NOP) has scheduled the spring National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) meeting to take place in Omaha, Nebraska, after the cancellation of the fall meeting due to the government shutdown. We encourage you to join us!
The Spring NOSB Meeting
The NOSB Meeting will be held from May 12, 2026, 9:00 am CT, to May 14, 2026, 3:00 pm CT in Omaha, Nebraska.
The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) typically meets twice per year. During this meeting, the Board will discuss:
Substances petitioned for addition to, or deletion from, the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances.
Substances due to sunset from the National List in 2028.
Recommendations on organic regulations.
The public is encouraged to participate by submitting written public comments or giving oral public comments prior to the meeting. During the meeting, the Board discusses agenda items and then votes on recommendations to the Secretary of Agriculture in a public forum.

NOC Pre-NOSB Meeting

NOC Scholarships for Farmers
The National Organic Coalition is offering travel scholarships for farmers to attend the organic community meeting on May 11, the Pre-NOSB Meeting, and the NOSB meeting (May 12 to 14) in Omaha, NE.
What the scholarship covers:
Travel-related costs, including mileage/transportation/parking, meals, and lodging.
The amount varies by need and number of applicants.
The hotel room will be prepaid by NOC, and other costs will be reimbursed within 30 days after submitting receipts.
Priority is given to:
Certified or transitioning organic farmers.
First-time NOC scholarship recipients.
Those located within a 3-hour drive of Omaha.
Recipients are encouraged to attend the NOC Pre-NOSB meeting and to give oral comments to the NOSB (in person or via webinar).
Key Application Details:
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but priority will be given to farmers who apply by April 28.
